Sixth Month Siesta

That's what I'm going to do - take a nice little blog nap. To recover from the Sixth Month Slump. Which is what I'm going through, I think.

Because, frankly, I'm boring myself, and I've been working on feeling comfortable in my blogger skin or finding a niche or something, and I just can't hit on it right now. A nap is always the answer.

I'm hoping that my blog isn't going the way of most of the journals I've ever kept - faithful and full for a spurt of time and then months or years of nothing. When I started blogging, it was different from the blank books of years past, but the ups and downs of why I'm blogging and do people really care and do I really care if people really care - that's been getting me down. All in my own mind, but stressful nonetheless. So I'm going to rest a bit.

The next forseeable interest in the Code Yellow house is Halloween - I bought two costumes on sale the other night and the boys are excited, besides being too adorable for words, so look for a pic or two on the 31st.

And then we'll see where the blog goes from there.

Have a nice rest, come back from time to time, and I will miss you. I'll keep you in my bloglines so I'll know when you're back.

Tess is right -- just don't delete your blog.

Um, well, okay, I guess. Whenever I read this from people, I think, "I hope this doesn't happen to me!!" but I don't want it to happen to those I like, either. So stick around, comment if you are reading, and do what feels right.

Lots of people are seemingly in a little slump right now. Lots of them are re-evaluating the whole thing, too. I keep trucking along but haven't posted anything profound or thought-provoking in a while.

You're in my bloglines, too. So when you do post, I'll know it.

Honestly, I think people should do what they're comfortable with even if that means taking a break.

So rest assured, people understand.

I'll miss you. But we all have to take a break once in a while.
I love your blog and I find it very entertaining and thoughtful and I love all the CalHenry Adventures.

Take care, and hope you get lots more books read.

Well you've never bored me! But I understand the need/desire for a break. I'll be here when you come back.

I, too will miss my CalHenry fix! It's been great getting to "know" you through your blog. I often say to myself that I wish I'd "met" you when I lived in Crofton, and maybe, just maybe, we would have MIRL. You are such a fun mom with two adorable boys. Thanks for sharing them with us. I know everyone's telling you to do what feels right, but darnit I'll be selfish and just plea with you not to leave us hanging for too long!

Have a wonderful little break. We all need those at one time or another. :)

You know, I think blogging has to be fun. Once it loses the fun factor - it's just a chore. I've had so much (too much) to write about with our kids growing and changing every day. I write because I don't want to EVER forget these moments. I also write because I know that many of my friends and family check in on the blog and are dying to read updates and see pictures of our kids.

But quite honestly, I'm zapped lately. Between working an almost full-time job, raising 2-year old triplets, being a SAHM (with NO outside help), keeping my blog up, taking care of my marriage, taking care of me ... well something's got to give.

My husband has volunteered to step in and take over the blog for a while so I can get a much needed break (and hopefully get to bed before 2 AM once in a while.) Once I get through "reliving" my pregnancy and delivery experience - - I plan to turn the keyborad over to him for a while. I can't wait to see what happens.

I hope you do come back. I'll miss "seeing" you, otherwise! Stay well.

See you on the other side.

A BREAK!?! A BREAK!?!?!! There are no breaks in blogging!!!

Just a little pot calling the kettle black.

Even your "slump" posts are good reads.

Your First Fan

Take a break. Take a short break. Whatever you do, DON'T delete your blog. Take it from me. They turned mine into a gambling advertisment. *sniff* Maybe you are pregnant. That's what happened to me. Got some extra hormones, deleted my blog, went crazy for a while, then came back. Yeah, so- just take a 10 minute power nap.

Enjoy your break. If there's one thing I know about blogging, it's that if you're not enjoying it, there's no point. Come back when you're ready to blog however you want and not stress out about it.

Take a break and you'll probably come back refreshed. Just reading and not writing for a while will probably give you some ideas!

Totally understand. I'm thinking hybernation is the ONLY way to go myself.
