Just a Bit

Thank you, thank you...for the advice, prayers, empathy and support you all expressed on my previous post (and in emails!). We are getting a little more sleep and I am so thankful for the solutions you offered. I am in "Sleep is Sacred" mode right now, so blogging is falling off my "Things to Do" list, but I just wanted to let you know how great it felt to know I'm not alone and to have something - anything - to try.

(Elevating her head a bit and changing some things I eat seem to have made a significant difference, as well as some modified swaddling - she HATES her arms to be pinned down, but seems to get calmer when her body is snuggled and her legs are wrapped up - and I am going to check into the lactose thing just to be sure...)

She is actually thriving (developing strong lungs, for sure) and I'm beginning to figure her out while getting through the weepy postpartum hormones. The boys started school in Kiev on Thursday and are both loving it. Charlie has started vying for my attention in naughty ways, but I can't really blame him. Mostly, I am really missing David.

I'd like some ruby slippers so I could tap the heels together and be home, all in one country, one city, one house again, with all my kids and my husband, even though London has been perfectly wonderful. I just need my people. Three more weeks seems like forever (that's how long I have to stay for us to get medically cleared and get the passports / visas fo traveling).

Sigh.

But now to sleep while my babies are sleeping.

You are so brave, and so tough, and so completely amazing. I'm glad things are going better.

And as a complete and total wimp when it comes to being away from my husband, I hope the three weeks goes by quickly and your family is all back together again. ;)

I'm so glad it's getting a bit better. 3 weeks seems like a long time, but it will go by so quickly.
Enjoy the sleep.

I need my hubby every day, I know there are so many better jobs out there that he could take, but would take him away from us. I'd rather be broke :)

So glad you're getting sleep. Sleep is sacred no matter what age they are.

I'm glad things are going a little bit better. I totally understand the wanting to all be together. After Pedro was born, Guapo had to commute to work for the next 3 months-pretty much M-F every week. I'm convinced that played a major role in my PPD.

Hang in there-you'll make it!

My perfect wonderful cute two year old went ROTTEN after I had Thomas. She is also so FAST. Compared to Thomas she moves a 100mph. It has gotten better but boy did it take a little while. I also have been crying more lately. I didnt cry at first but three months later I am tearing up. I bet you are missing family. I cant imagine. Thinking of you. Sending prayers:)

Thinking of you as you wait out the time to be able to go home to your family in Kyiv. . . what a precious little girl Jane is!

(I usually lurk, rarely comment. . . but used to live in Kyiv with my four boys who were ages 1, 3, 4 and 5 when we first arrived.)
