Calvin caught me totally off guard earlier, dancing to this little segment in the movie, "Robots." This video is actually not as animated as the first time I saw him do it (he had a serious head jive funky rhythm going on!), but you get the picture. And his singing at the end just kills me. I think what surprised me the most is that we (David and I) are not dancers - we're more concrete shoes kind of people, old, serious souls with inhibitions galore. And here's our baby just groovin' like he knows what he's doing. I think really that children come into this world dancing - I hope Cal still dances like this when he's my age.

And this next one - you gotta know that the action started long before I got the camera going and lasted long after I stopped filming. It's pretty much Calvin in a nutshell. Energizer bunny, eat your heart out.

I love the picture of you pinching the thighs and him not wanting you to. So cute!!
You gave Kristen the Pork and Pepper stew recipe, right? Finally tried it - DELICIOUS!! Big hit around here. My Kenyan DIL loved it, and she's very particular.
Those video clips are aaawwwwesome!! He just boogies away and he's good at it!!
I definitely think Energizer could learn something from Calvin. Can you bottle that energy and sell it???
I love it when he was singing along and then the words changed, and he just looked at the tv - great job Traci!
oh man, I'm SO glad you figgered out how to post those, they are a riot. That dancing and singing is priceless. I think I've seen some 80's videos similar to that...He does have rhythm. Such a mystery...
That truck is SO cool. Why isn't Henry trying to get a ride? No helmet?
That little guy's got rhythm! Aww, can he be any cuter?
And the yellow truck marathon around the house is adorable.
Great videos!
Best siesta ever.
I do believe he's got the "deacon shuffle" down already. Way to go!
Love them! Don't you wish you could bottle some of that energy? I always tell Camden that the reason he has so much energy is because he took all of mine!
And that rhythm -- impressive! (And highly cute, too!)
Wow! Glad that you figured it out too. What a cutie and what rythym he has. My sister has an area in her house like that where the kids go around and around and around and around and around and..well you get the picture, or you HAVE the picture!
Too cute! He has some rhythym.
I can not believe that my son does the SAME thing (into the kitchen then back into the livingroom) with the SAME Tonka truck. He's 2 1/2 and loves to make noise so that truck is perfect. He also loves the drumsticks from the Parents Drum. Everything in my house has been hit with those things including me!
Makes me tired just looking at him!
So, so cute. I wish grownups wouldn't take on that inhibited lack of danciness, too.
I am not a dancer either, so I love Calvin's grooving. And the second video--well, I can relate. In fact, it's the same truck. Imagine an 8 year old encouraging and chasing the behavior and it's even louder.
I am glad that you haven't hung up the towel for good (did I mix a metaphor there--yes, now I know--throw in the towel. What do you hang up??). Anyway, I'm glad that Calvin realized that your "work" is important.
And it is--to us (and to you, I think perhaps). Not at the expense of all else, but in addition to it.
Wow, the kid's got rhythm!
Go Calvin! Go Calvin! It's your birthday! Go Calvin!
