Brevity is the Soul of...

Wit? I have none right now. I keep starting posts and then realize that they sound a little too much like Eeyore. Sense of humor? Not much here. I'm mostly just digging in and muddling through and haven't felt much up to entertaining or recording any of my glum, Might be coming. Might be going... It's all too much bother... I'm not always gloomy. Sometimes I'm blue...Sometimes a sigh says it all...*

On a brighter note (ha!), my as yet unread copy of Bleak House arrived in the slow-boat shipment, so I decidede to lose myself in it. I'm about halfway through, and it's terrific. For those of you who wondered along with me, Smallweed does perpetually need shaken up, but only once in the book so far has he said, "Shake me up" to Judy. The line is perhaps not as chuckle-worthy in the book as it is in the miniseries, but Dickens's description of Smallweed is - what else? - classic, in the most perfect way.

Code Yellow Dad has volunteered his blogging services whilst (love that word!) I finish my escapist reading and find my blog muse...I know the grandmas and aunts are anxious for news and pictures of the most adorable boys on the planet. All that, and more, coming this week.

Meanwhile, thanks for noticing me...

(*These are Eeyore quotes, BTW: be sure to read them in his voice.)

It is about time you posted again. Without your blog to read what am I supposed to do at work all day?

I've been waiting for you to post. Hope everything is okay. Any travel plans for Christmas?

Sometimes a person just needs to read to shake off the funk--lose yourself for a few days in a wonderful land of make-believe. For me, I watch the BBC Pride and Prejudice (hello Colin Firth!) No worries, hubby is aware of my Mr. Darcy thing. Sorry. I digress.

Please know we are thinking of you and will pray the Eeyore blues pass. We've all had those days (or for us expats...months/years). I joke that the hard things that happen at least make for a good blog.

Hugs and misses.

Hope you're ok. The first 6 months are the hardest and full of ups and downs (I'd say more downs that ups, unfortunately). You'll make it.

I love the word whilst too.

I am in the same mood! Only I didn't move to a different country-what's my excuse?

Maybe it's our boys?

Hi it is Sister Kinghorn,
I just wanted to tell you that I gave your note to a Donetsk Missionary who called a Gorlovka missionary (I think that is where you said your friend is) I am hoping you will hear from her soon. Please let me know if you need me to try to contact the missionaries in her area again. I love your blog. I was curious about your title so I read the post about the code yellow at target. It made me cry. I know how crazy is that. I have a grown son who has struggled for many years with drug addiction and I have been so worried about him lately. I feel like he is lost. I could relate to that feeling of panic. Oh my gosh, my son is gone, somebody help me find him, please. and when all those red shirt people responded to the code yellow I thought about our Heavenly Fathers angels who I have been calling on to come and bring my son back to me and to his Heavenly Father. I pray that we will have that same response that you had from living angels who brought your little boy back to your loving arms. So anyway, your post touched me. I hope we can stay in touch. Love Sister Kinghorn

Look at you, doing everything. Even when you don't feel like posting, you manage to give Code Yellow Dad something to read at work.

I'm just impressed that in all your Eeyoreness, you still manage to use the word "Whilst". That's skill baby, skill!
